Zwiser Posted January 15, 2012 Report Posted January 15, 2012 So I went to start my banshee today and it was seized. I was riding it Saturday last week and it ran great no weird noises or anything I drove it into my shed and parked it, turned the gas off, and I haven't tried to start it until today and the kicker wouldn't move so I didn't try to force it with my foot but I pulled back on it with my hand as hard as I could, and it only budged a little. I also tried to push it gear to see if it would turn over and it didn't. I think it might be my kick starter gear or something because like three weeks ago the kicker slammed up against the clutch cover and it stayed there but i could still turn it out to start it so I have just been running it like that since then. So what should I try to do? also it was 56* out when I rode last week, and all this week its been in the 30s and 20s. It hasn't over heated, it runs at about 140*-155* in these cooler temps. Mods are: trinity cool head with 20cc domes compression is at 155 on the right and 159 on the left jetting is good plugs are a dark brown toomey t4 pipes pwk 28s kn air filter with lid on chariot billet impelor its not ported, and is bored .020 over with wiesco pistons and I run 93 octane mixed 40:1 with klotz super techniplate thats all I could think of that could have failed or that you guys would ask about... Thanks! Quote
Dicklez Posted January 15, 2012 Report Posted January 15, 2012 Zwis I would maybe pull the clutch cover off and check the gear and idler gear. Maybe the bushing in the idler gear is worn so bad that it cocked or something. With your description, I dont think the motor is seized but you never know. I would start there. Quote
Zwiser Posted January 15, 2012 Author Report Posted January 15, 2012 I forgot to mention that I did just put a steel bushing on it la couple months ago, but ill take the cover off and check anyways. thanks Quote
Jereme6655 Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Yeah if your kicker jammed up like that then there's something going on there..... Quote
Zwiser Posted January 17, 2012 Author Report Posted January 17, 2012 Yeah I just pushed down really hard with my foot and it came free, but im still going to take the kicker assembly out and inspect. thanks Quote
Overboost Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 when my kick start seized, I shattered a piston no noise, no indication, shut it down, went to start and WTF pulled it apart and the piston was in a zillion pieces. 4mil after that, fuck it, best thing that ever happened to that stock junk Quote
