Profilact Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Can that even be the right crank? Theres no way a 4mill should hit...right? Quote
From Mild TO Wild! Posted January 11, 2012 Author Report Posted January 11, 2012 So this thick base gasket, what is it going to do to my port timing? Quote
mikechief Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 when you raise the exhaust port your motor will make power at higher rpm which also means less low rpm power . If your jugs are ported your exhaust was already raised and if you add another .040" you might have to get off and push the fucker to get moving shee'll rip your arms off up top though . get a printable degree wheel from google , glue it to something solid ,bolt it to your crank and tell us how many degrees your exhaust is open Quote
mikechief Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 same goes for transfers . If you raise the transfers you'll raise the power band . .060" is pretty sloppy squish too . Buy a cool head ...problem solved Quote
From Mild TO Wild! Posted January 12, 2012 Author Report Posted January 12, 2012 If the squish is .019 on stock base gasket and those are .024-.030 and I got .060 base gasket if my math is right mys squish will be .043-.049 Quote
mikechief Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 oh ok ..... I was thinking the stock gaskets were .020". Just keep an eye on your plugs . It'll probably be fine. Gaskets are cheap if you don't like how it runs change it . TDR has thicker head gaskets in a bunch of sizes Quote
DwnSouth Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 I had to clearance my case for the rod to get buy on my 58 115 rods. 5 minutes with a die grinder and bolted it up. No issues. Quote
