ap3x Posted December 19, 2011 Report Posted December 19, 2011 I've been doing a lot of searching and I'm trying to figure out what I can do about wiring up a single LED headlight. From what I've read, I just need to find something with a low enough draw for the stock stator in order to avoid putting in a battery. I'm just looking for somethin cheap and rectangular that I can make a bracket for. The previous owner had cut off the brackets for the stock headlights... Any thoughts? Quote
vifferman Posted December 19, 2011 Report Posted December 19, 2011 One light=bad. If it goes you can't see squat. I may be wrong but LEDs won't run without the proper ground and require system mods. Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Fry? Fry? 1) Drill holes where the stock lights were and mount Auto Zone/Checker lights. + You can see better than the stock lights. - They are cheap and break easy. + They are cheap so you can replace them more often. 2) Mount a set of Trailtech or similiar lights on your bars. + They usually come with one flood and one spot so you can see even better than the Checker/Auto Zone lights. - Not as cheap as the Checker/Auto Zone lights. + More durable than the Checker/Auto Zone lights. Jereme6655 Posted December 19, 2011 Report Posted December 19, 2011 i also believe that you must do a DC conversion by floating the ground on your stator and adding a regulator for the ignition system....if you still want to do this....then there are 2 people that you could talk to.....MattSCS who is coming out with light bars.....and also Snopszinski.....he's already done alot of the LED lights on banshees....
