Sandfrk33 Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Hey guys, I'm having a problem with my basket set up. Putting my motor together right now and I noticed my inner basket will not spin freely after tightening the nut down. I'm running a hinson spring basket with stock inner. Do I have to use all hinson parts? I put the stock basket back on and it works fine. Put the hinson on, and the inner sticks. It even sticks when the nut is hand tight. WTF. This can't be normal Any suggestions are welcome, other than throw the hinson out Quote
BUILDER Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Are you getting both of the washer in there when you are putting it together? Quote
Sandfrk33 Posted November 18, 2011 Author Report Posted November 18, 2011 Yes I am. Thats the first thing I thought it would be. Quote
camatv Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 make sure the brass spacer is center'd. if the washers are heavily groved that might be it also. you can run stock boss and pressure plate in the hinson springloaded no problem. also make sure the big steel bearing on the clutch shaft goes through the clutch basket really easy. I had to clean up the inside of the brass sleeve with some emery cloth. It was not spinning on the bushing at all. But it still feels stiff to turn. I'll play with it some more today. Rest of the bottom end went together nicely. Sending my cub out tomorrow to get ported. Quote
