willardwright59 Posted November 15, 2011 Author Report Posted November 15, 2011 Sorry about that, i have pro circuit pipes. I hear so much about the 4mil and a serval? Im not new to a banshee, my dads had one since i was born which is why i got one. But theres alot of things ive learned from this sight. There are hardly any trails where im at bc suddenly everythings posted bc other riders have no RESPECT! so im looking to get into more of a field racer. I drag race all kinds of quads and really wanna make mine faster and more powerful. Im still trying to decide what to do. Whats a serval? Any opinions on what i should do? Quote
Overboost Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 There are so many things wrong in this post the only one I will say anything about is the case trenching. You do not trench cases for a 4 mill. As far as what you need to do to make yours a 4 mill. First would be to have a builder look at your cylinders and see if they can be ported to run a 4 mill crank or not. If they are not able to be ported for a 4 mill then you would need cylinders. Your carbs would work just fine with a stock cylinder 4 mill and I do not see what pipes you are running in your sig but with the mods you have listed I am assuming you have aftermarket pipes and most pipes will work with a 4 mill it just depends on where you want the power to be. Basically you would need domes crank and pistons if your cylinders would work other wise you are looking at domes crank and cylinders OMG sue me cuz I said case trenching, I was thinking 10mil but everything else is right.... I didnt trench my case for the 4mil but the 10mil I did, I like the 4mil better Quote
SlowMoe Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Look. The serval is great and all, but it seems like you just want to build a quad to smoke your buddies, which is NOT what the serval was created for. You will spend alot more money than you need to to do some bench racing. Im not sure what kind of competition you have, but if you do the following you will beat 90% of what is out there: Mill and rechamber your stock head or buy a used cool head 100 Get a used set of cpi shearer or rocket pipes 350 Send your jugs off to a good builder like HJR for a port 450 Just that would have your horsepower in the 70 to 75 range and you will be spankin all but the baddest 4 pokes. You may need some other mods like extended swingarm tires and tranny mod if you have trouble shifting but power wise thats all you really need unless you regularly come across fully built race quads.
