TriggerFish Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 I have an 1996 banshee & my left cylinder is not firing. The right will run but the left isnt. Iv changed the spark plugs and when it happend it was on the new plugs.. Iv changed the plugs but still dsnt work. Could it be the coil overs? The coil right coil over fell off in my hand when I was taking it off. The right cylinder moves the left b/c i can feel air coming out of the left still. Is the left cylinder just not getting a spark? Where can I buy the full 2 spark plug wires and everything? Or what do I need to fix it? PLZ HELP :> Quote
Dicklez Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 I had the same problem. Was the carb tho. Try flopping your spark plug cables to see if the problem moves to the other side. Quote

Jereme6655 Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 alot of times it is a carb issue due to problems with dirty fuel and/or old fuel. Sometimes it can be caused by other things such as perofrmance parts that require a carb rejetting and it hasn't been done so it does the same symptom because the bike can't get enough fuel to run 2 cylinders. If one of your plug wires broke that stands out to me as a big problem. You may be having cylinder running issues because your plug wires are so old and brittle they can't send spark anymore. Or you may have some dirt clogged in your carbs. My suggestion is to get yourself some new plug wires first and try that. If it doesn't work then i would pull your carbs and break each one down and clean the hell out of them and all the passage ways in them including the main and pilot jets.......DO THIS ONE CARB AT A TIME....as each one has side specific parts that you actually can switch into the opposite carb....but it will cause more issues. Keep us posted... Quote
UTcrop99 Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 not sure what reeds your runnin but i had the same thing happen to me. turned out it was a dinged reed cage and everytime i put my carbs back on my reeds would fall out of adjustment, got new reeds and havent had a problem since.
