harness connector difference

i know a while ago i ran across a thread with all the wiring harness connector year splits. if anybody can give me a link id greatly appreciate it. I need a new stator and my bike is hacked from about 4 diff years so i dont know what the harness is out of.

that I took the time to find (so you didn't have to waste yours) by searching 'wiring harness years' there are only two choices, round 87-94 and square 95+.

 

If you don't know what year your harness is how will you know which year to match it to?

If you can tell by what the plugs look like why did you need to know the years?
