Hey Everyone I have an 06 yamaha banshee and i'm willing to start moding it. I have installed a K&N racing air filter (single) but I didn't rejet I noticed that in the 6th gear i couldn't get my bike to reach top speed i feel that there is something holding it back so i figured out that i need to increase my jet size. I don't like moding so much "keep it simple keep it fast, strong and healthy" right now i could get around 70 miles per hour (112 Kmph). So what size jets do I need to run since its stock i was thinking of installing V-Force reed valves, Jets, Renthal racing handle bars, and take the back tires out a bit what do you guys think.

Also a friend told me to cut the air filter box to get the most out of my K&N's is that a good idea or would the filter get dirty quickly, would it make a difference in performance. Since my bike is stock is it okay to install the V-Force reed valve or do i need to get pipes first cause i'm happy with my original exhaust system.

Thanks

Salman.

Seeing you probably don't get much mud over there, take the air box lid off. If the intake noise bothers you put it back on. Your "speed" problem is jetting with that filter. You are lean and shouldn't run it until you jet it. I would think 230 w/ lid , 240-250 without. Unless you go for more major mods you don't need V-force reeds , maybe just a set of Boysen or Vitos dual stage.

Thanks a lot man, helpful information but its been sometime riding without the correct jet is that bad for my bike should i temporarily put the original filter till i could get it jetted and about the reeds i heard that V-Force is the best so if i installed it would it be too much for a stock bike. Maybe someday i install Toomey T5's or Pro Circuit's 304 so i don't want to have to change the reeds or anything just rejet and its all good.

thanks and please reply

I think I would put it back for now because you could burn the motor up otherwise. How hard is it for you to get parts localy for you? Or would you have to get them from out of your country?

This isnt the correct forum for this question :jesterlaugh: I will try to get a moderator to move it and send you a PM . it will probably go in general discussion.

B T W Welcome to Banshee H Q !! I've seen some footage of some pretty nasty Banshees from the mid-east

Hehe thanks man. I'm gonna reinstall the old filter. Its not really hard to find parts around here you could get them from Pro Bike or Zero Gravity or even Yamaha them selfs but yamaha's a rip-off i only service my bike with them and have them install the goodies i bought from pro bike or zero, which come from the states. However you do get a couple of garages that get their stuff from UAE, so there parts aren't as good as you want them to be plus it isn't so trusty cause the stuff you get from pro bike and zero are original and there good brands like FMF, Tusk, Renthal, and so on but in the other garages well you can notice a prices drop. These garages are good for if you wanna get your carb cleaned and small matters.

Anyways if i rejet will i be able to install V-Force wont it harm my engine cause i wanna keep my bike healthy and also if i installed reed valves will i need another rejet?

where are you from?

lol i can't believe there's an emotion of someone wanking :P

cheers buddy

Just get some 240s if it's easiy enough to get them. Usually guys don't use V-force until they get into highly modified builds. You might not notice any difference. It's your money. At this point any reeds won't require additional jetting.

Look around the forum , reading up on other set-ups to see where you might want to take it in the future.
