wiseco ring gaps

does anyone get tight wiseco piston rings ? i always get ones with massive rings gaps, like .018", tightest one is .016" on this setup anyway, last one was .015/.016 and the one before that the same.

 

where can i get some tighter piston rings ?

Is your machinist boring your cylinders to the proper size? With a properly sized cylinder that has the correct piston clearance, I have ALWAYS had to file my Wiseco rings to get an endgap of .012 inches.

whoever is boring you cylinders is keeping them on the loose side,when i bore cylinders to the .003 piston/cylinder clearance recommended my ring gaps are perfect at .010 on .020 bore,ring gaps on wiseco should be .004 per every inch of bore if i remember correctly

its been both stock cylinder and cub, i was starting to think maybe they were just loose. ive never had to file em to fit, which id like too.

I thought it was just me . Re-ring on Banshee no file, Blaster with fresh bore one ring needed filing one didn't. What's the service limit for wiseco rings? Could it be they make them idiot proof?

dunno what max is, .018 is too big tho. paid $70 for already worn out rings haha.

The last set i did were very close to perfect. every other set has been too big. cylinder was bored correctly as i am VERY picky about how my stuff is.

Mine on my 68mm cub came to me at .016 I believe. I thought that was a little big.
