Timz Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 i'm new to this banshee. it runs fine and all but as soon as you turn the gas on the overflow off of the carbs leak. what is causeing this and how do i go about fixing it? Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Tap the sides of the bowls decently hard with the butt end of a screws driver. If your floats are stuck this will free them up. If that don't help, pull the bowls off real quick and check that the float hight is correct. Seeing that your i there, check that the needle and seat are not worn and letting fuel by. Here is a good link to read, with pics and will show you how to measure your floats and check the needle seat. http://www.allthingsmoto.com/forums/f-15/how-set-your-motorcycle-carburetor-float-level-more-commentary-13608/ Taking the bowls off and adjusting them is a 1-10 on the banshee scale. So easy a cave man can do it. Check back with your findings man. Quote

bansheesandrider Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Make sure you do 1 carb at a time as you don't want to get the float bowl on the wrong carb. Also, make sure the Oring that seals the seat to the carb is good and is a snug fit when you put the seat in the carb body. Quote

Jereme6655 Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 while you have the carbs apart....... pull the main jets out and clean them and record them so you knwo what you have.......do the same for the needles and also the pilots.......this way if you have jetting problems you know for a fact what your jetting is and we can give you more help without you having to go and tear through your carbs.
