Ok I have read post for three days! Eyeballs are going to fall out of my head. I have a bottom end bog that I cant get rid of. I ride at St, Anthonys sand dunes (5000 Ft, about) I have a mild dune port, Milled .040 head (19cc domes) t5 pipes. VF3's and cages. lightend flywheel. stock carbs k&n pods. 310 mains 27.5 idle. I think i'm out 1 turn fuel/air. I run 110 oct fuel. +5 woodruff key (installing an adjustable timming plate this weekend). Also crank is welded and trued. Aftermarket crank berings and heavy clutch springs. As soon as it comes off the pipe even a little it just quits pulling. Any help or ideas? Thank you in advance!!

might need diffrent diameter needles at that elevation, the diameter effects 1/8-1/4.if you cant fix the problem adjusting the clip on your existing needles, pick up some for ported bikes from fast racing, they are longer and a lil leaner needle, plus you might wanna try 2-1/2 turns out on screw, sometimes at that elevation stock pilots are good

go richer first without me riding it its hard to say if its a lean stumble or not.Since your not complaining of top end,its your needle or pilot,I will usually make a drastic change fisrt to see if it helps like richen needle all theway if it dont work lean it out all the way.If this doesnt help put needles back in middle, change needle.I would mess with the air screws first but this all depends on your main being dialed in and float heights correct, many people dont realize the magnitude of float heights

Drop ur needle to the fourth position and take air screw out half turn see. But then out another half turn so one complete turn on both screws she will rip . I had same problem needle needs to be in fourth position tho. Try it n post back... Just had same problem o fixed it tho like that.

Thanks for the responces. I was working all weekend, so no time to try anything yet. I'll be working on it tonight. I'll let you guys know what I did and how it worked. Thanks again. Almost time for a dune trip!!!!

I've found that most bikes out at this elevation don't like the 27.5 pilots. Also most bikes out here seem to run best with the needles second notch from the blunt end(top).

To give you an idea I run 310 mains, 25 pilots, needles second notch from blunt end, air screws 1 1/2 out. In the middle of the summer the 310's are even a tad rich, but I like running a little richer than too lean.

I have a stock stroke, aggressive dune port, CPI's, vforce3's, k&n pods, +4 timing, 19cc domes....etc.

Have to looked at your plugs? I would put 25 pilots in, and move your needle. I don't have any experience with t-5's, everyone I ride with up here pretty much runs CPI's. My guess would be your running rich though.

Thanks for the info. Yeah my 310's are a touch on the rich side as well. Like you i'm ok with that, we ride pretty hard in the sand. Better to be safe than be pulled.
