jonvia Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 idk if this is normal, but i noticed that one of my exhaust pipes, the main part that attatches to the cylinder, has a leak like around it. and my other pipe does not. is this normal? could i need new exhaust springs? or the exhaust gasket? if pt mids even have those haha. jonvia Posted April 14, 2011 Author Report Posted April 14, 2011 Replace your O ring gasket in the pipe... if it still leaks change the springs. or save yourself the guess work and just change both gaskets and springs i figured thats what it was haha. just was not 100% sure Quote
Larry's Shee Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 I see nothing wrong with a little RVT, wipe off excess. Gotta think that the exhaust and pipe could wear over time. Not many of us are running brand new shit. Quote
vifferman Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 (edited) Your PTs are shot, I'll give you $100 for em. Just kidding, ride.race.live is right, a new gasket should fix it. Springs couldn't hurt either and RVT if ya gotta. Let us know how it goes! Edited April 15, 2011 by vifferman Quote
dcalsv02 Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 RTV is your friend, especially if you have the older (non o-ring having) paul turners. The newer style has the o-ring which seals up nicely, but the old style pt's need the rtv to seal up any possible exhaust leaks. I use it on my old style pt's and it works fine. Don't be skerd Quote
