frankO 7 Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 Hey i'm new to the site... whats up? looking for some carb guidance.... I have an all stock motor/carb set up with pro circuit pipes, k&n filter in stock air box with no snorkel. I'm at 1200 feet. I had a dealer re-jet my shee after the pipes and filter. They only went up to 230 on the mains and thats it. pilots are stock 25 and needle in stock position, 3rd down. Pilot air screw 2 1/4 out. Been running like this for 3 years at least with moderate use. It has always ran good but a little boggy on the low end. Plugs don't fowl but have good chocolate color, dont think its lean... does this set up sound right to you??? from what i've read it sounds like they should have gone up a bunch of sizes on the mains and possible 0-2 on the pilots with air screw adjusting. I'm not really sure since it seems to of always run good. Always starts 1-3 kick. However, my left cylinder started to cut out at mid range so i'm stripping it all down and cleaning the carbs. I'm also adding reeds and a possibly a ported reed cage. I was going to leave the jets set the way they have been with the exception of moving the needle one position leaner. Should i go richer on the pilot air screw or jet? What do you think about this set up??? Riding season is here and i have to get on the trail soon!!!!!!! Thanks in advance! Quote
