DCacosta Posted April 9, 2011 Report Share Posted April 9, 2011 hey guys....heres the deal just got my bike back from the shop to have the reeds and timming plate put on....i changed the trans oil when i got home. Took it around the block power feels good, but the shifter is acting weird. I try shifting and it seems hard to find gears , for example i would be in 3rd and then i would try to put it in second but noting same with 1st (but every gear is hard to find).......I think the shifter isnt coming back to the middle ....like it gets stuck.... can someone please point me in the right direction!!! OR its pawl has turned sideways and its stuck inbetween the star's pins. take it back to the shop you had put in the reeds and have them fix it.. ( id guess) you will need new shift shaft, alignment pin, align spring, lock washer, plastic spacer, and nut. at least thats what all i replace when i do it. motor dosent require spliting.
