lildoc101 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) working on friends banshee and its having shifting issues. and i need help. motor has been freshly rebuilt. runs good and strong althought the shifting is now acting up. the problem is when shifting wile riding the shifter falls as theres no strenght to hold it up although u can hold it with ur foot and shift it. weve tighted the bolt thinking the lever was just slipping but was not the case. the shiftr also dose not move in and out. any help would be appreciated. thanks. gotta_goatsfast Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Pull the clutch cover off. Sounds like the shift detent spring is broken. It is the spring that returns the shift shaft to its original position. Quote
camatv Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 ha detent pin is probably broke shifter is not sapposed to move in and out. if the pin broke it probably trashed a bunch of stuff in that motor Quote
