I bought a Yamaha Exciter 440 intake manifold to mod for my shee , i'm either looking at making from scratch a carb flange and boot , or trying to find a 440 boot in good shape . anyone ever do this mod , use a boot from a different machine? any advice would be helpfull

First.... why?

Second, if you're using a 440 intake then you can either pick up a rubber flange for it or you can check out the assortment of flanges Mikuni makes.

I like the 2-1 for simplicity , ease of maintenance and its the set-up I decided to go with , I'll check out mikuni , good idea . Sudco didn't have anything specific.

I'm running a 38mm PJ on it , so the boot has to fit good , i dont want to stretch it and risk a air leak if it splits .

Just my personal experience, but I've swapped from a trinity single carb to small twins and my throttle response was crisp down low and pulled a hell of a lot harder on top.

Anyway, I found a part number for you. This is for a 36-38mm carb. It mounds by 2 8mm bolts. The bolt holes are 75mm center to center. I don't know how this fits in relation to your manifold.
