chetgoff Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Looking for input on gearing. I have drag ported cylinders, milled head 64.5 bore. stock stroke 35mm carbs boysen reeds with ported cages +4 timing +6 swingarm 10 paddle extreme haulers. T5 exhaust.. right now i'm stock gearing and all i ride is sand and 99% of the time playing at the drags. what is a good gearing starting point. Quote
Axle01 Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 there are a few other things people will need to know to give you the best answer but I would probably start with a 15/44 off of what you have provided. Quote
chetgoff Posted January 25, 2011 Author Report Posted January 25, 2011 my tirre size is 22x11x10 10 paddle extreme haulers I weigh about 250. maybe this will help to decide where would be good to start? Quote
Hilarious Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 my tirre size is 22x11x10 10 paddle extreme haulers I weigh about 250. maybe this will help to decide where would be good to start? how often do you get into the upper gears other than drag racing? my play bike is set up somewhat similar to yours and i weigh a little more than you and i am using a 14/44 combo. Its really peppy and torquy on the down low, really run to ride. Not super crazy on the top end but enough to give some of the 4strokes a hard time at the drag strip. Quote
06specialedition Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 I ride 100% dunes with ten paddle haulers, stock gearing has been pretty good for me. If anything I'd maybe try a little taller gearing since I ride big dunes. Maybe try 14/44 for you? Quote
