06specialedition Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 I want to replace all 8 screws that hold the float bowls on stock carbs. Whats the best place to get these? I've looked on stadium yamaha and didn't see any, And my local stealership only has 2. Suggestions? Thanks in advance. -Zach Quote

06specialedition Posted December 12, 2010 Author Report Posted December 12, 2010 Damn thats a good idea. I'll pick some up here soon I really want some 33mm carbs, but may wait for a bit so figured i'd get some new screws Quote
muggzy Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Got mine at Home Depot - Black anodized finish. Quote
BigRed350x Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Any of your local hardware shops will have a nut and bolt section that should have something that will fit. I get stuff like that from ACE hardware or TrueValue. Quote
Judge1 Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Get some metric stainless allen heads from ace nuts and bolts they even have chrome! Quote
WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Yeah, I went to ACE and got the stainless allen screws for all my carbs. They don't round over like the phillips heads do. Also alot easyer to put them on the allen wrench and then insert them. Trying to get them to stick to the phillips head tip.....even with it magnitized was always touch and go, and my hands are too big to fit in some of the tight spaces. Stainless allens all the way! 06specialedition Posted December 14, 2010 Author Report Posted December 14, 2010 Sweet, stainless would be nice! I'll have to see if there is an ACE store locally here Quote
dajogejr Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Always one of the first things I do... Any hardware store should have metric stainless and possibly chrome as well. Ace does have a nice assortment. I can't stand the phillips screw heads on them. With a hex/allen head, you just snug 'em down with a T handle and be done. Quote

Yeah swapping my mains for the winter, the Phillips heads are getting pretty trashed. Maybe I'll check out home depot or lowes since the closest ace is like 25 miles from me. Quote
dajogejr Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 I know the depot by me has stainless. They normally have them in plastic bags too, not the bin Of bolts like hardware stores. Quote
