68chevyc10355 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I took my stock carbs off and put a set of 30mm oko carbs on. I adjusted the floats and haven't had problems with the bowls running dry. My question is whether or not it is common to have to use choke to start the shee after it has sat for a while. Once it has warmed up it will start first kick everytime without choke. The only reason I am asking is because with the stockers it would start first kick warm or cold without the choke on. I have 52 pilots in and a 165 main (I am working my way down on the main but wanted to start rich) with the clip set in the middle slot of the needle. Mods are in my sig. My elevation is just shy of 1000 ft and the temperature has been in the mid 40's to 50's. Quote
68chevyc10355 Posted November 25, 2010 Author Report Posted November 25, 2010 I made a mistake, I actually have 55 pilots. Also, the fuel screws are 1.5 turns out. Quote
jasons Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I made a mistake, I actually have 55 pilots. Also, the fuel screws are 1.5 turns out. i have about the same setup as you and i am in san diego i am about sea level. both the main and pilot seem rich. i would go to a 48 pilot and go to 160 main. also with the oko carbs the needles seem to be junk. i ordered Keihin JJH needles and it fixed all my problems. my mods are in my sig. i had a hard time tuning my carbs until i got the new needles. if you need any more help pm savage420 he knows these carbs good and he helped me out. hope this helps Quote
