700vflash Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 I fired up the shee and let it warm up, then putted around for about 10 minutes. started riding good for about 2 minutes and then It just died with a little back pressure sound, never did that before. Shee did not want to fire back up and I could tell that something was wrong by the way the kick starter felt, sometimes it would give a little kick back from the kick starter and sounded kinda like something was rubbing. I figured I blew a ring or something but, I recently got the shee and have not had any problems, last owner told me there was maybe 20 hours on the top end. I will probably start tearing the top end down tomorrow, just wondering if anybody has any input as to what might be wrong! Quote
Phelps Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 you can just about take any amount of hours that someone claims and times that by 2-3 times. just tear into it.... Quote
Larry's Shee Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) Just for shits and giggles pull your stator cover first and be sure flywheel is copesetic. Might have sheared key . Maybe do compression test first also. Bothof these cost no money and little time. Diagonose before dissassembly. Note color of plugs also so if you leaned it out you can fix that also. Larry's Shee Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) Make sure you have no burrs on crank or inside flywheel before you re-assemble it. Blue loctite and torqe or impact nut. Edited October 5, 2010 by Larry's Shee Quote

700vflash Posted October 5, 2010 Author Report Posted October 5, 2010 Thanks for the info, I am much relieved that it is not the motor. Although I have thought about just getting a gasket kit and taking off the top end just to see the condition of the pistons, rings, and cylinder walls. Quote
Larry's Shee Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Pull the pipes ,roll to BDC take a peek thru ex , don't cost a dime. Look at skirt while at TDC, Ex side takes most abuse. Quote
