I'm going to replace the fuel and I'm replaceing the fouled plug is there any specific plug should I get? And I am switchin from amsoil to klots st is this stuff any good? And is there any difference in the champion platinum vs a regular plug Edited September 23, 2010 by CFH87 Quote
CFH87 Posted September 23, 2010 Author Report Posted September 23, 2010 why wouldn't you run a champion plug? and nice silverado Quote
CFH87 Posted September 24, 2010 Author Report Posted September 24, 2010 I'm almost positive that I've got champion plugs in there now but the bike came with ngk's i believe the plug had a R on it lol. anyway what kind of drop do you have on the truck? I've been thinking of dropin my truck but as it sits right now with the 22's it rubs out Quote
EvilBanshee Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 Ive had problems with champion's in my snowmobile fouling plugs long ago and since then Ive never put them in anything besides my lawn mower and weed whacker. I have no hard evidence that NGK is better I've just always ran them and every shop by me or gas station only sells NGK. While hardware stores sell Champion. I'd say pretty much everyone on here runs NGK. Oh and thanks its actually a C3 (Denali). I would stick with the NGK BR8Es as well. Nothing against Campion... NGK is a good plug thats proven. Quote
bansheesandrider Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 why wouldn't you run a champion plug? and nice silverado I have always ran NGK in my 2 strokes, but occasionally I would have to run a Champion in it if I had to buy a plug on a Sunday. The only place that was open on a Sunday only carried a Champion. If I ran a Champion, it would only last for the one day, but NGKs would last forever in the same setup. Also, I tried them in the Torino street machine that I used to have and a month later it was running like crap. A new set of Motorcraft plugs and nothing else and it was running perfect again. That has been my expierence with Champions and that is what is wrong with them in my opinion. Quote
crash&burn Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 If you let the gas sit for two months in the banshee you run into the oil and fuel seperating and if you had fuel in your carbs i could only assume that it seperated in there and if it were me i would pull fuel bowls off spray it with some carb clean and get some NGk's personal prefrence on those. I have never changed a NGk due fouling just changed cause of it being old, used, or just felt like it needed a fresh plug real good plug if you ask me..... i belive NGK Makes an iridium plug as well it should burn a little hotter... you get what you pay for when you buy plugs Quote
crash&burn Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 Also as i recall the place where i buy my race fuel from says fuel will hold up to 6-12 months in a plastic container thats sealed with no light exposer and in metal can it should last from 12-18 months with it being sealed and no exposer from light..... so if the fuel is two months old doubt it went bad more than likely oil fuel mix seperated.... when my bike sits for a week or two before i run it i give the bike a a good shaking for before i fire it off Quote

CFH87 Posted September 24, 2010 Author Report Posted September 24, 2010 I got it running put new ngk plugs in and there was no spark. My bike is supposed to run with out the key. And I thought for a sec, just for shits and giggles I would try the key. With the plugs out what do ya know there's finally some spark. put the plugs back in and it now runs with the key. Thanks for the help everyone I am going to clean the carbs later on today... Quote
CFH87 Posted September 24, 2010 Author Report Posted September 24, 2010 And should the plugs be snug or tight in there or is there a certain way they have to be? thanks Quote
