stud screw next to the shift star?

ecentric screw. it's for centering the shift claws on the star. = distance between each claw and star pin. as you turn it you will see the shifter move up, or down.

As said above, you want the claws to sit exactly like how mine is here bottom and top.

 

Just don't lock tight the eccentric screw in, use the lock washer only.

 

Sometimes it takes a couple times to get it set right, but if its off even a mm off it wont shift like it should. Only takes a few seconds to get it perfect.

Don't forget to make the adjustment with the shifter on the shaft.The weight of the shifter will throw off the clearance to the pins if you try installing it after you make the adjustment.It does not throw it off much,but enough that you will notice it was not adjusted correctly

I would also like to add, only adjust it while in any gear and Not neutral.
