Need help on lectron alky carbs

I've never raced on alky and I need help on how to check if I'm running lean or not. I have 38mm lectron carbs on a 400cc motor. I have exhaust temps to read how bad I'm doing, but I'm new on all of this and know next to nothing in this field. Need to know about jetting etc. Anything helps thx. Johnny.

They are going to ask you for what needles you are running. And mostly to see the plugs as well.

where did you start your needle length?..packard recommends 48.5mm at sea level..also take pics of your plugs...and descibe how the bike runs?
