cjo632racing Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Recently I bought a 99 Banshee (my first) its fast as shit but lately after it warms up it loses power it wont get out of its own way . Then I will shut it off start it back up and it will take right off for about 20 to 30 seconds then it loses power again. seems like the plug on the left keeps fouling. Pulled the carb off today did not see anything wrong. Any suggestions? The bike has Toomey T-5 pipes, Wiesco pistons, Boysee daul stage reeds, ported case, I rebuilt the carbs about a month ago but it ran fine up till now I did not change anything inside the carbs (Jets). Thanks Chad Quote

Thanks Chad possible cracked reed on left side.are u on the gas wot mostly?a cracked reed will still let the bike run normal at wot,but under that it will want to load and die on u.also, check compression on the cyls.make sure the same jets are in both carbs, maybe u thought u had the right one in and put a different one in?stock carbs, make sure the little brass washer is under the main jet. I just replaced all the reeds, the bike will not move under full throttle so I am pretty sure it not a reed. But I will look. I will check compression tonite but I have not seen any gray on the plugs and it has full power from idle to wot when I first take off then 20-30 seconds later it loses power. I was thinking ignition probably coil. the coil is stock so last nite I ordered a aftermarket coil. anything else I should check? Thanks Chad Quote
