Bruce_Blaine Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Okay banshee wasn't acting completely right one day. It kept sputtering. So today I checked compression which was about 110 (the engine was still warm, I had rode it about 20 minutes before) on both cylinders. The spark plugs were very different, one was a a really light brown and the other was black. My plugs are usually black, they never have been brown before. Also, when I pulled the plugs out smoke was coming out of the left cylinder, which was the one with the light colored plug. The primary coil ohm reading was a 0.4 - 0.5 (the book calls for .28-.38) I didn't even get a reading off the secondary? My question is first are these related problems? Is the coil bad? And if it is would that cause the plugs to be different and smoke to come out of the left cylinder? I had been riding about 10-20 minutes before I pulled the plugs so the engine was still warm. HELP PLEASE! Quote
