kolb02 Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 I want to get some 300ft drag paddles. Our track is all sand no dirt mixed. I have a 4 mil cub drag ported by RDZ on gas. The bike weighs less than 300lbs, I weigh 170lbs. I run 22-11-8 10 paddle haulers for St anthony's dunes. +12 swinger, I want to run faster in the 300ft drags so what tires would work best? If I have to run a wheelie bar I will. I just want to get everything out of it as I can. Whats the best setup? I don't want to do anything that I can't switch back for when I go to the dunes. Quote
Hilarious Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 Do you know anyone that would let you try some diffrent paddles? they are very expensive. I would try some 14 extremes in a 72~74 ish rollout. How is your bike geared? Quote
kolb02 Posted August 30, 2010 Author Report Posted August 30, 2010 (edited) I have to guys that I run with that might let me try there's. I think there 12 paddle haulers. I can't remember my gearing. I will have to check. I think it's 14/41 Edited August 30, 2010 by kolb02 Quote
kolb02 Posted August 31, 2010 Author Report Posted August 31, 2010 i also have a 1-5 override, and I start out in 2nd. I wonder if I can run more paddle and start out in 1st. Or would I be fast starting in 2nd? Quote

shanYE west Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 leave in 2nd I'd run 13 or 14 extremes in a 70-73ro gearing should be between 2.857 and 2.66. I used 15/42 with 13 extremes on my 4mil with +12 Quote

Someone told me to do 24 tall with a 12 paddle. 22x11x8 straight. My 4mil would spin my 12's.. the smaller motors dont tend to turn the bigger RO tires well (from my experience).. The 24" tires usually give you around 76-80ro and are on 10" rims.. they'll cost quite a bit more then the 22" tires. You can find 22" 14pdl extremes on rims for around 420 bucks.. give or take.. Thanks for the help! What if I went to a 24 tall tire and started to leave in 1st gear with a wheelie bar? Would that help or would the setup your talking about be better and stay leaving in 2nd gear with a wheelie bar? And I'm not really worried about cost. I just want to get that faster time!
