shees4life Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 I just bought a 2003 banshee. When the clutch lever is pulled in it does pull the cable all of the way to the motor and it moves everything like it should but it does not grab anything. It is as if nothing is there. I know it has got to be in the clutch somewhere but do not know what it could be. The guy said it had always worked fine before but who knows.. a little advice would be great!! Quote
J-Madd Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 So there is no resistance at all in the lever? It could be that the pressure plate nut fell off, or the ball and push rod have welded. If the ball and rod have welded I would have the previous owner get it fixed. It's not expensive, but it takes a little work - that's bs if he sold it like that. - Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Yep, pull your clutch cover and see if the nut in the center of your clutch pack is still on, or check it to see if it just backed off a little. I have had that happen in a couple of motors. If its falling off, you need to order a new nut and adjustment screw. www.farmandsandtoys.com has them. Quote
shees4life Posted August 20, 2010 Author Report Posted August 20, 2010 Thanks guys. I will pull it off and take a look. Quote
