I was wondering what plug gap Cheetah guys are running? I was running .030 Last time I went out I tried .028 and .026. Id swear it had better thorttle responce with the smaller gaps. Post your comments.

Thanks.

I use .018 on alky.. .022~.024 on gas

I dont agree with this.. but.. if thats how you set them up.

Iv proved it on the dyno. The larger the gap the colder the spark becomes. the tighter the gap the hotter it becomes. If you run a higher voltage ignition system you can get away with larger gaps. Their is huge horsepower gains on high compression motors. But clearly this theory is all too a certain point. like 22-30 is perfeect for a Gas powered engine.

I dont agree with that either.. To each their own.

Well ya dont gotta agree with it lol. Im just telling ya, if your wanna make power. Tighten up your plug gap a bit. Its not a opnion. its fact. I test stuff like that on the dyno all the time.

I have a ported 350 that runs on 110 sunoco. 185 psi compression. It hates .030" gap and loves the .022" gap.

Thats a perfect example!! High compression engines will blow the spark out if its too big.

Thanks for the info/opinions guys. I just gapped my plugs at .024 Im going to try that tomorrow.

There is clearly a difference between .030-.024 I noticed it.
