BANSH-alena-jol-EE Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 hello, the shee is leaking a bit of fuel out round both spark plugs, ill be it not alot, but enough to raise a eyebrow....if fuel can leak out, cant air? or im getting at possible loss of compression? i havent re jetted my bike since the winter so im sure shes running rich, would this be the problem? she runs fine when warmed up, but some hesitation and bogging down low when cold. thanks oh ive tightned up the spark plugs, so not that, maybe ive stripped out the head?? Burt Reynolds Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Well that could be a few things,i would pull the plugs and check the area where the plugs seal against the head, sometimes it will get nicked up and not seal. Other thing could be detonation,if you are running 87 or 89 octane, try running 93,or if you are running 93 with mods try running some 100ll. SInce both are leaking i would think detonation but who knows. Quote
RagunCajun Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 (edited) Only time i had that problem is when my bike was detonating. It would make the spark plugs come loose. Detonation will destroy even the strongest of engines. What engine compression you have and what elevation are you at? Edited August 10, 2010 by RagunCajun Quote

AKheathen Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 lol, chris, it's probably high elevation, or wrong tester/method....anyways- i've seen it 100x. if they are not backing out, then just get new plugs and install them as per directions. they don't use much pressure at all. the gasket rings are just overcompressed is all.
