bought bad crank on Ebay

Won this Hot Rod stock stroke crank on Ebay. It was suppose to be a 10 ball trued and welded with 30 minutes run time on it. What I got was a Hot Rod with a busted weld and a .057" rod side clearance (clearly seperated). It did have a single 10 ball bearing on the stater side (what's up with that) What pisses me off is the seller is a Banshee HQ member, and how obvious the problems are with this crank. In fact, the crank was for sale on this forum a couple weeks ago. Not naming any names at this time. Going to see if he makes it right.

My guess is it was this guy Americanbanshee. If it is... you will never get your money back. He is a well known scammer, and frequents this forum with tons of different names.

You have me and some one else mixed up this crank was never listed on here for sale and you can ask rundmc and t-shee about how it was running last time out. I dont use the same name on here and ebay and I would never intentional sale any body junk! I cant beleive that the crank was like that but I will admit I didnt really look at it just cleaned it off a bit and boxed it up. I mean damn it was new! It sucks for the both of us but I did call a few shops and the said it was only about $50 to true and weld a crank so if you have some one local it would be faster and cheaper for me to just pay to have that one fixed for you if you would want to do that. Really sorry about the trouble and let me know how you want to go about it. If i pay to get it fixed you will still have got a hell of a deal on a hotrods crank so just let me now what you want to do.

I don’t know of anyone I would trust in Columbus to fix it. Anyone on here have a good source for crank work in the Ohio/mid west area? Post me a quote. I’ll need the whole crank checked for true, stator cheek pressed back to spec and welded & inspect all other welds. Also, quote me an option for 2 new (stator & drive side) 10 ball bearings. All the info you need should be in the first post. It would be a nice crank if it was fixed. Still don’t understand why it separated on the stator side. Let me do some checking and I’ll get back to you.

there is a guy here that was a hill climb champion for about 10 years and he has a shop he is the best and also the most expensive naturally but he wanted $75 but if i was having it fixed thats were i would take it.Its called Jeff Thomas Racing .
