SheezFast02 Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 I just finished rebuilding the carbs with the MOOSE factory rebuild kits. I thoroughly cleaned everything with carb cleaner and reassembled the carbs, and took this opportunity to rejet to compensate for FMF Fattys w/ Powercore 2's and NO LID. I put everything back on the bike, crossed my fingers and gave it a kick. Fired right up! This bike never started right up like this when I bought it, plus it sat for a while from the time I took it apart til now, due to being busy with other things. Anyway, I'm experiencing a major bog at bottom end when I start rolling form a dead stop. I'm running 27.5 pilot with 280 mains at 330' elevation. I know my carbs will need to be sync'd, but I was just making sure it would run before going ahead. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Seems like a rich condition but some members said I might be going with a 290-300 main by the time I was done. If it was running lean, wouldn't it be idling really high? Quote
SheezFast02 Posted August 2, 2010 Author Report Posted August 2, 2010 Forgot to mention that the temps feel like 37 C with the humidity today, for what it's worth. Thanks for any help. Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 Your jetting seems to be pretty close to me. First thing you need to do is sync your carbs. Then set your pilot screws at 2 turns out. Try that and see what happens. If the bog is still there, try turning your pilot screws in 1/4 turn at a time. Go out and test ride and see if it gets better or worse after each 1/4 turn. Quote
