yeahitsmine Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 Hey guys I took my tranny apart and I put it back together and the flywheel seems kind of wobbly will it mess up anything if it is bent a little Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 I would say its done if its bent. You 100% sure its sitting on the crank right and the key is sitting in place correct? Did you drop it? Hit it any at all? Quote
Titan up Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 OEM or Ricky Stator? What did you use to take the flywheel off in the first place? Are you able to indicate it, to see how much it runs out now? From what I've seen, flywheels generally don't run dead nuts true, but if they run out too much, they can shear the end of the crank off. Darthwall Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 if you didn't use the recommended flywheel puller the screw in type more than likely you tweaked it alil bit but the flywheel is kinda tough to get lined up on the key the last couple times I had to tighten it the second time Quote
madjimmax Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 If its bent your fucked dude time for a new one. If you look in the for sale section you can probably pick one up, But whatever you do dont buy a Ricky Stator flywheel they are fucking junk. Quote

If it wobbles visibly then it is going to cause vibration and it could cause the end of the crank to snap off. Quote
AKheathen Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 worse, it can cause the crank to separate, and it will keep running untill it throws the rod through your cyls and bust the cases......make sure, if you did use the proper puller, that the taper seat isn't galled up, making it sit crooked, and that the key didn't move and bind it up crooked.....also, always use some loctite on the nut when installing....
