Hi Everyone

I am doing this writeup in the hope that it will help all buyers and sellers feel safer about transactions.

For anyone on here, buying or selling goods this might be useful and prevent any misunderstandings as to the safety of a buyer or a seller.

If you want to check whether someone is paypal verified or not you can use the following link and modify the back part simply by pasting the email address of the buyer/seller to see if they are verified or not - giving you extra peace of mind.

https://www.paypal.com/us/verified/pal=*put email address here*

Replacing the (*put email address here*) with the persons email address - i got this from paypal after fighting with them

so in my case as an example thebrittishguy verified or not? will show if im a verified paypal user. (you will need to login to your paypal account)

https://www.paypal.com/us/verified/[email protected] (to show what the link looks like)

This can be used for any paypal user whether here or on ebay or any other place where you might use paypal.

Hope this will help other buyers/sellers stay safe!

I know you've got good intentions with this thread but people need to keep in mind that everyone has to start somewhere. Just because someone isn't verified or has a low verification number, has a low post count, or hasn't been a member for very long doesn't really mean anything. I'd be more apt to simply advise people to use Paypal and let them take care of the rest.

Nice looking 'shee by the way...

yeah man, just something i found that might be useful for those that would like to check as im not sure how many people know that it is possible to check. as for the new guys they can be verified from day one - this just means that sellers/buyers will have paypal protection as all user info is confirmed and verified by paypal.

Yeah thanks, i love my banshee - no other like it in the world (i designed the graphics myself) :headbang:

Newbies - this is also exactly what this post is about!

Im a newbie to BHQ from South Africa and tried to buy something from one of the members on BHQ from the US, and my paypal payment was blocked and cancelled (by paypal) because they thought someone hacked into my account as i have never sent money to the US before. because of this confusion the seller said that i wasn't verified and it all looks abit dodgy so the deal is off - when i actually was verified and was honest and looking to complete the deal with no dodgy doing in mind. so this is as much for the newbies and the old school and will hopefully give us newbies a chance having a verified account.

TBG whilst your point is valid, your beating a dead horse. You cant tell someone your legit enough to make it so. You have to proove it. For 3 days youve been beating a dead horse, shit happends it sux, but your not getting anywhere. Your spinning your wheels and making a bunch of fucking noise, but thats it. Sorry for your deal gone bad, it sux, but give it a rest, its all going to be ok. .. :deadhorse:

BTW thats a sick ass banshee on your tank. Like the idea!

Sounds like you just had a bad seller. As long as the deal goes through Paypal there should be no worries. Some sellers are more secure or insecure in certain instances than others though so to each their own I guess but to not sell something to someone because they aren't "verified" is just ridiculous. If being "verified" mattered that much then Paypal would require it. Hopefully the seller that back-tracked on you realized that.
