The prob. is either the basket or straight cuts are hittin something under my cover. Any ideas?? It's a stock cover.

It's a stock cover. is there any visable damage? i have a magnum basket in (2) of my bikes and one of them also has straight cut primaries and no issues. just thinking outloud here but did you not put the thrust washer behind the basket, what about the one that goes between the basket and the inner hub? It wont turn over once installed all of the way. It's a new build, never ran. Wonder if its because the straight cuts are 2.68.
dajogejr
Take off the basket, and turn over the crank. Make sure it does. Then remove the crank gear and put the basket on. Make sure the clutch turns over. You should be able to figure out the culprit from there. (Obviously, you need to be 100% sure the bike is not in gear if it has a chain and tires on it...) Figured it out. It was the washer on the waterpump gear. The 2.68 gear is .100 bigger and hits. Smaller washer & no prob.
