Polishing rear shock

Can I remove the rear spring by loosening the top bolts with a spanner wrench or do I need a tool to compress the spring.

you need the tool. i`m not exactly sure how i did mine it was awile ago but i didn't use the spanner wrench and i remember compressing the spring.

Yeah I just did mine and you need the spring compressor... Just compress the spring and pull the bottom clip off but watch out when you let out cause that spring has some force behind it. Lol

Just unscrew the shock nuts all the way up and use a screw driver to pop the spring off. There is a little notch cut out of the bottom keeper, slide a flat head screw driver in there and use the leverage to compress the spring.
