I just started having some problems with the override yesterday and wanted to see what you guys think before I tear it down. the tranny shifts super smooth with no noises and just recently it wont stay in 4th gear,it will automatically shift to 5th or 3rd all by its self. it's a duneable and I only hill shoot and shift it like a regular override(shift down only when stopped) it has 2 quarts of ATF and changed on a regular basis. thanks jeff.

I will ask the guy who cut it.

How did the shift forks look when you put it in...and are you sure you put the right spring in the right location on the fork shaft?

Is the shifter accentric adjusted properly?

thanks for your reply dave,it's an HJR cut tranny and it's been flawless for over a year now.I havn't tore into yet,just preparing myself.

My buddy said it's more than likely from being backloaded and the forks are worn out.

Take pictures when you decide to tear it apart...

hey jeff i got a buddy here in town that can take care of that tranny for. You may have heard of him Rudy Kurtz. Pm me if you want some info on it. Also do you still need those questions answered about the swinger, and frame. hit me up.

Rudy Kurtz is the man with transmissions...no doubt about it.

I don't think he believes in the dunables, but I could be wrong.

 

Hey Jeff...you don't happen to have a shift pro kit in it in addition to the override, do you?

I sure hope he believes in the duneables, I'm working on a deal with a guy on here for a 1-5 duneable from Rudy...hm, anyone got his phone #?

I'm not sure if I left that in or not when I changed it out.I was thinking that the other day,cause when it was a dune bike it had the shift pro and the modded shaft from fast.You thinking it's not enough pressure holding it in from that bearing?

Yep. My budy Cody (Rajun Cajun) got one cut from me...said it did the same things/similar to what you're talking about.

 

He PM'd me the other day with this: (I know he won't mind me sending this to you..)

 

Just wanting to shoot you a message. I got rid of my shift pro shift kit and install the stock parts. Now the bike doesnt shift on it's on and it wont pop from 5th to 4th by itself in a race. It did that a lot.

No prob...

You mentioned you treated it like a drag tranny...it "should" be fine on the inside. You just never know.

But I was going through PMs just yesterday and came across Cody's PM...and I thought about you guys out there.
