Check your compression first. 20 cc domes is a common one and I was able to run pump fuel with 20's at my elevation. If your compression is below 160 then your ok to run pump fuel 92 or 93 what ever you can get.

 

If you check it and you are above 160 then go to 21 cc domes. The higher the number the less your compression will be.

i had a stock piston and 20's that seem odd? bought it modded and kinda lost now! and i'm at sea level if that helps. melted a piston after 10 mins of riding 93

Check your compression first. If its below 160 then there is a good chance you have an air leak some where.

 

Has one of your spark plugs backed out yet? For me my right plug backed out twice before I realized what was about to happen.

To check your compression get a tester that screws into the threads. The hand held ones aren't that accurate. Once the tester is in, then hold the throttle wide open and kick that some bitch till the compression needle stops moving.

truth is i already melted it and rebuilding it now, want to go back with 110 but still can't find it within 40 miles. already tore it down so can't check comp on good side. so after bore and rebuild i just measure my compression and let compression tell me what gas to run or what dome to use? don't wanna rejet it, it ran awesome till i put 93 in it! then it ran like crap from the kick start!!!!!1

Once its back together check comp and that will tell you what octane to run. If the 20's still got you above 160 psi then you need to go to 21's or 22's depending on how much above 160 you are.

 

If you want to run 110 that bad just buy 15-20 gallons at a time. 110 race fuel was about 30 miles away for me so I would buy as much as I could afford at the time. Just keep it in a cool dark place so it keeps longer.

well, figure out where your timing is set first, and you should be somewhere in the 95 to 100 oct. requirement, granted you are on stock cyls, near stock bore, and your squish is between 035" and .050" and not weird angle for other pistons/fuel. go look for some 100LL at a small airport, or commercialish fuel station....it's about the highest regulated fuel you will find, and run awesome at all elevations. ususally only a little more than premium, too. if you are worried about "low lead" rating, don't be.......i've ran the same plugs on it for over a year, and they are still really clean, etc.....
