SLORYDER Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 Has anyone run a drag ported 4 mill stock cylinder with the stock head? Would like to go with the sleeper look by getting the head worked for the 4 mill but i don't want to run into any reliability problems. Thanks Quote
tundish2800 Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 i have seen a few people with that done and have not heard of anyone running into problems. Just have to have it cut for the 4mil Quote
J-Madd Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 x2. You can run a modified stock head just fine on any cylinders that have that bolt pattern. Quote
SLORYDER Posted April 5, 2010 Author Report Posted April 5, 2010 Sweet thanks. One of the builders on here told me he wouldn't do my 4mill unless I bought a cool head. I think he was just trying to sell a head. Thanks again Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 runnin one on my mill, no probs and it works great 185 psi! Quote
SLORYDER Posted April 5, 2010 Author Report Posted April 5, 2010 runnin one on my mill, no probs and it works great 185 psi! How do you like thaat 12 port setup? I thought about it but am leaning towards drag port... I will be dragging 75% of the time but I heard it makes some really good power as well Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Seems to run well everywhere, i trail rode it a little bit lol, and it pulled hard everywhere. Also raced some of the "other guys" port jobs and cleaned up house lol. Its a good all around bike and i like it alot, not sure how much of it can be credited to the 12 port over a traditional port job, but it runs really well all over. Also many have said they are hard to tune, but i havnt had any problems so far besides that it likes fuel, and i am in no way a expeirenced tuner, i know what everything is and what it does, but new to tuning these 12 ports, and its been a walk in the park. Not saying anything bad about the other guys either, just sayin i kicked some ace which made me feel pretty good! Cody Quote
