Larger Fuel Tank

I am wanting to get one of the larger fuel tanks. How much fuel do they hold and do you need to make any modifications to anything to swap them out? Thx. Mike

i have an oversized tank its 5.5 gal had to cut the front fenders for mine but a buddy got a diff one were no cuts were needed

It depends on the brand of tank, they are either 5.5 or 5.6 gallons. On both of them, you will no longer run the tank covers(still use the factory radiator cover), and I believe one of them you also cut off the fender plastic that is directly under the tank covers. There could also be interference between your tank and the handlebars and/or the steering stem depending on what you are using. The only two manufactureres that I know of are IMS and Clarke Manufacturing, you can go to both of their websites and see pictures of tanks on bikes.

i have the ims 5.6 gallon and so do my girlfreind and freind. You will need to cut the plastics right below the tank, no biggy, the handlebars will be fine. Great addtion to the bike and helps out a ton on long rides.
