BluBanshee98 Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 Has anyone put a set of the checkers or schucks HIDs on their banshee? I've got a set on my rhino and they work great and are about the same size as the stock banshee lights! I think the would look great and I know I would have to make some alterations to my electrical system to run em but I think they'd be sweet! Let me know. Thanks Quote
AKheathen Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 i've always thought about running tose ones, too. i don't know how picky they will be on voltage, like the ones for your car/truck ususally are. you can do the 12v conversion and add a battery, or build the dampener and try them out from your rhino to see if they work good..... Snopczynski Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 the led vision x stuff draws less, and its still pretty bright. They are smaller lights too, so you stand less chance of whacking one off if you wreck. I worked on a rhino with those shucks hid's on it, sometimes you have to turn them off and back on up to 5 times to get them to both light off. If you want to run hid's, I say buy a quality HID unit that will last a long time, and turn on the first time when you flip the switch (like a vision X HID). Quote
BluBanshee98 Posted March 27, 2010 Author Report Posted March 27, 2010 I'll see what I can come up with! I'm not crazy about putting a battery on it for some brighter lights but I wouldn't have a problem throwing the dampener in there and see how it goes! I like the size and I've had mine now for about a year and had one time that one didn't light off. Just an idea I had! Quote
AKheathen Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 actually, for the price they want, you might just want to get some solstice led's from snoop.... Quote
So Cal Suspension Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Buy a QUALITY H6M HID conversion kit. They're kinda hard to find, but I just finished doing a conversion on my buddy's bike, and everyone was concerned about them getting too hot. We had an old set of junk plastic lens stock headlights... wired them both up to a 12v power source, and left them on overnight... in the morning, they were still cool to the touch. INSANELY bright... for around 100 bucks (depending on what HID kit you buy) probably the absolute best lighting mod for the money. Xentec's are actually very good kits for an off the shelf brand. Go with a color temp of around 5000k, the lower the kelvin temp, the more VISIBILE light, the human eye can see, but also the more yellow. We tried a 5000k, and a 6000k kit. the 5000k was still white as white could be, the 6000k had about the same light output as the 5000k, with more of a bluish tint. There are guys in our group that we go with that run those xentec kits on anything from raptors, 450's, teryx's, RZR's.... Anything, you name it. I think out of the 12-20 Xentec kits that are out there, MAYBE 1 person has had issues in the last two years. Good luck! PM me if you want some more info. Quote
