no power after 2nd gear at 1/4 turn

It all started when I changed to twist throttle, I installed the idle screws that came with the kit, rebuilt the carbs with the same size jets that it ran great with before, It runs like a champ while in nuetral throttle open no problem, 1st gear wide open no problem, second gear after about 1/4 turn no power the bike doesnt die but there is nothing there, you can take it back to 1/4 turn and it will run just fine, it will run the same no matter where the air screws are, it runs the same with the air screws all the way in?, good spark, coil good, new plugs, carb cleaned and rebuilt, new reeds.. At witts end please help

Anything will run great with no load on it. List ur mods and jetting. And did the weather get hotter or colder from when the bike ran ok.

jets are 200 and 25 same as i was running before, I have FMF gold series fattys,boyeden reeds, twist throttle, boost bottle,desert tank. asv handles,oversized radiator other than that the motor is stock, the problem started after I installed the twist. the weather is pretty much the same

Those jets may be the problem...they are stock sized jets. Granted every shee is a little different even with the same mods...but you should be in the ball park of a 27.5 pilot jet and a 230-240 (correct me if im off on this guys) main jet... your shee may be starving itself cause the main jet main not be big enough.

Main jet should be at least a 270, if not a 280, or 290. Start with a 290 main, and jet down if needed. Don't start small, and risk burning it up.

you said you changed out the jets from the ones that were in it when in it when it was running correctly?? if so go back to those... because if your bike is revving all the way out with no power that is a sure sign of it being way to lean. From the mods you have you will definantly not be running 200's so i would definantly ask around for some opinions on jetting. But i would guess 23-250's

Are you running the lid? If you are then your mains should be in around 240-260 depending on temp. You should be able to get away with the 25 pilots. If you have the lid off, then the pilots need to be 27.5 and the mains around 290-300 for starting points.

have you tried your pilot jets yet? the main jets only function PAST 1/8 or 1/4 throttle. The pilot jet is what takes care of the fuel from idle and also keep going all the way to wide open. The guys were just wanting you to up your mains so that you don't melt your motor down on a WOT run by running it way too lean. TRY steppin up the pilot jets!!! 27.5.
