wacko2000 Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=127605&pid=1104904&st=0entry1104904 I put gussets in the rear by the grab bar, there is one from the factory there but its a little flimsey. I also added them in the steering loop, on the inside and outside You can basically get as creative as you want, its pretty simple if you can weld or know a welder. Quote

WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Nobody has any pics of there frames on mx race shees ? Besides wacko thanks wacko. Just looking for a couple of ideas to see how others have built there banshees for racing and abuse. Thanks Jbones. I just sold a frame all modded like your talking about. Gussettes and added brace tubes. It was a fricken TANK. Too heavy. I'd only worry about added braces for the rear shock mount area. Guys get all gung ho about making the frame as strong as they can....your going to break alot before the frame. Like the shock mounts on the top of the lower a-arms. If your riding realy hard those mounts like to get crushed in on themselves. When you brace the rear part of the sub-frame, (where they all bend from big wheelies and rollovers) you just end up bending the entire sub-frame the next time it happens. I'd try to not take it too far. Quote

The steering loop Is my main concern(has been bent once or twice already) but I'm think about stripping the frame down for powder coating and just don't want forget to do something i should of done first before coating. I'm looking for the banshee frame weak spot so i can fix them first. thanks Jbones. Quote
