shakar Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 what is the ring end gap suposed to be on wisco pro lites ? id like to know new and the limit . some as stock? thanks Quote
RadarRacing Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 .012 (12 thousandths) is what I usually set em at. Make sure you gap em. I've seen some that were .004. When your rings (especailly when new) get hot they expand which closes the gap and then they press on the cyl wall and end up pushing into the exh port and hangin a ring and ruining.that new bore job. bansheesandrider Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 (edited) X2, Iset mine at .012 and have never had a problem snagging rings, Also, make sure your ports are chamfered. Edited February 13, 2010 by bansheesandrider Quote
bansheesandrider Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 (edited) Also, if they are to tight you will have to file them. When filing them , file from the outside in, run the file from the surface that touches the cylinder towards the center of the ring. This prevents any burrs that could scratch the cylinder.
