i have a 96 banshee it stoped running one day so a buddy told me it was the cdi that went bad so i got one and put it in and it ran for like 15 sec then it went back to the same thing no start no spark so i took the cdi and put it in my 01 and it ran fine. the coil is good also put it on the 01 and ran fine. the last thing to trouble shoot is the stator and pick up coil but the thing thats bugging me is that it ran for a lil before it died and the first time it did it it was running on idle and just shut down. if any one has an idea what the problem might be please let me know...thanks

yes, ohm out the stator and check the grounds. the stator should read 13.7-20.5 on the red to green wires. the pickup should be around 110. did you set the pickup gap? las thing to do would be to remove the flywheel with the right puller and check the stator for damage and the flywheel
