harbinger of death Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 First of all, merry christmas to everyone. My problem is that I got new pwk 28's and I dont know where to begin with jetting and the rivers are almost ready to ride. Here are my mods-t-6's, +4timing, pro-design foam filter-no lid, and v-3's. Elevation is around 500 ft. and temp is between 0 and 30. Thanks for any help you can give. Quote
harbinger of death Posted December 25, 2009 Author Report Posted December 25, 2009 can anyone help me? I've never run keihins before. Is there a general rule of thumb for going up and down on mains to adjust for temp? I just want a starting point. Quote
GNR101 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 hold tight... some1 will help you out. try serching the jetting fourm also. there was a thread in there of something like list your mods and jetting like 5 pages long Quote
sleeper06 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 52 pilot 155 main is safe but stock port dont be suprised if you end up going down into the low 140s Quote
robert0762 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 I have PC's k and n open airbox sea level 30-50 and kevin from hjr told me to run 148 / 48 to start. Havent got around to putting them on yet but Ill let ya no when I do Quote
harbinger of death Posted December 26, 2009 Author Report Posted December 26, 2009 Thanks for your help guys. Looks like I'll have to get jets ranging from 140 to 170 to cover the weather here in wisconsin. I try not to ride much when it's below 0 or when it's over 90 so hopefully those will be enough jets. How many main sizes do you usually change before you have to change the pilots? Looks like I have some experimenting to do to get her dialed in. Once again, thanks for your help. Quote
jmoore Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 I'm working with the same thing. I just got some pwk 28's as well a couple weeks ago. I threw in some 190 mains (only set I had) and 52 pilots and it ran fine but was far from perfect. I ended up busting an idle screw right away and just threw in the towel til I get more jets in the mail. Be careful with those things. They break so easy. I happened to have a couple extra but I will be getting some steel screws in the future. I didn't even bother to look at my plugs so I have no idea if or how rich I was running. Do you trail ride in the winter? I head across the border to ride in the summer but have always wanted to ride in the winter over there. The trails are so nice! Quote
