ok im back again, i just installed 310 mains , i left the pilots stock and 1/2 turn out on the air screws, my mods are t5s, k&n filter boost bottle , and no snorkle, it runs good but right at wot before it hits the powerband it sputters for a few secs then takes off real strong , im going to take the filter lid off and see if it gets better, what could be the cause ?

yes, do that. it will tell you if the mains are too rich for the lid. lid is 2 sizes different. really, double check the boost bottle for leaks in the intakes.......it will also do pretty much that if you are just low rpm's. about close to doing a proper plug chop by now

ok the sputter goes away when the lid is off with the 310 mains, it never did that with the 300s but im going to try and cut alittle away on the box lid and see how it runs, and im deff going to do a plug chop very soon , wheres the best place o buy sparkplugs, my dealer wants 4 bucks a pop, i know there is somewhere where you can buy a whole box for that price, o ya who makes a good tors removal kit?

You can get sparkplugs at nearly any auto parts store. For $8 I think I woulda just got two plugs and jetted my bike and been done with it, You need to start off with fresh plugs anyway not old fouled ones, if it doesn't run rich with the lid on then jet down two and look at your plugs, ride it and your done.

2 things i do differently.......first, i only run 1 side at a time, and 2nd, i don't actually chop. i just look down to the bottom with a magnifier and measure ther ring with something, like a toothpick, or o-ring pick. then just run the same plug and keep as spares, since they are sill new. but i have been running the same $20 denso's for over a year, so, aside from chop runs and 1 time after pressure wahing too much, i haven't needed them. my dealer only charges $2, but you can get them online, or at a performance shop for that, or cheaper.....once you are experienced with the sound and feel of what is rich or lean, you won't need to do any chops anymore anyways....unless there is another issue...

ok i moddedy stock airbox lid by cutting out the divider and the slots that take the air from the back , with the 310 mains it runs perfect i mean perfect no sputtering at all, and im ready to get some new plugs, what do you think about bead blasting them to clean them? i have a glass sander so it makes them come out like brand new, im still going to buy new ones tho

well, when you do the "chop" without actually cutting them, they will still be new, but for cleaning fouled plugs, just use propane or mapp gas torch and get them glowing. they won't come out completely white, but they will be clean as new....
