i just had my banshee rebuilt and my retaining cap on the carb dosent screw on but if you take the idle nut or whatever that is off it screws on.so i know its not striped so any help would be great its a 1990 with stock carbs all rebuilt

yea the slide is right i was told my carbs are messed up i just wanna go with stock ones but dont know what kind or website

describe what you are talking about a little better? you remove the idle screw from the side of the carb and the cap screws on? or the cable adjuster from the middle of the cap? it really sounds just like the slide is in wrong....pics would really help right now

If I had to hazard a guess I'd say he's referring to the cap locking device that comes on stock carbs. Most people throw those away after while...

yep those things are bullshit i hate em lol last desert trip my fucken cap came off while i was riding and now i got all sorts of shit in my carb .... (sorry about jackin the thread) bangheadbanghead

well, you see that culinder sticking out of the top?

and notice how there is a dot on there, and how it is in line with that little window?

and here is what it looks like when it is bottomed out correctly at idle
