jake_yfz350 Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 hello i am new to this website but it seems to be the best iv seen on the net i am having trouble jetting wen i got the bike it was stock besides a moose racing boost bottle and i baught some dg pipes and silencers from a friend and couldnt get it jetted right had to take it into local yamaha dealer and still doesnt run tip top and now its winter so i dont rilly now how to go about jetting it. i live east river south dakota so i am under 5000 ft its has 270 mains and the needles are set on the #2 setting it is a moose racing stage 3 jet kit. were do u think i should have needles set and what mains to use Quote
AKheathen Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 well, describe your symptoms......you should start with the needles at the middle, and probably go to 310 mains if the 270's were right. describe what it does at all throttle positions. and remember to make and judge all adjustments for a completely warmmed up engine... jake_yfz350 Posted December 6, 2009 Author Report Posted December 6, 2009 its kinda boggy wen i take of after that if i get on it and stay on it throught all gears its fine if im going about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle and punch it it hesitates and sometimes back fire and then will take off like a bat out of hell this is with the 270's and the needle on the 2nd slot Quote
AKheathen Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 well, i would reall, start looking for airleaks, but move the needles to the middle position, mabey move the clip 1 clip tward the pointy end if it is an aftermarket needle. start with the 290's and hold it wot through some gears and see how it feels...but make sure there is no airleak first...
