badassbanshe Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Has anyone used maier plastic? I am looking at the carbon fiber looking plastic. Are they good quality? I don’t like the tabs on the radiator shroud but the rest of it looks good. Can you race cut the rear fenders with out screwing it up? I don't know how they apply the carbon fiber look. Quote

Fast-Fibers Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 More than likely they use what is called "Water Transfer Printing". It is a very cool process where the part is actually dipped into a water bath that has a printed film layer on the top that sticks to the surface as it is dipped. I personally am not a fan of the fake carbon look, there is nothing like the real thing. You should be able to cut them without having any problems. Here is a link to a website the shows some of the products coated using this process. Hydro-Dip Quote
