WayBackWhen Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 I got a banshee a few weeks ago, barely been able to ride it. I was wondering what you guys thought would be the best trail riding set up for my 'Shee? I was thinking of doing about 36:1 fuel mix, tuning my carbs for slower ride and not always wide open, but not sure what else.....any suggestions? Quote
Idontknowwhy Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 you won't be able to "tune" your carburetors for trail conditions. I mean it is a 2stroke and it loves revs, can't really change the nature of the beast ..but as long as you keep it on the pipe, you'll be okay just get some seat time. But if anything a fourstroke might be more suitable for how you want to ride. Bumping the compression, a set of good trail pipes, and advancing the timing will help with low/mid power and will smooth out the lightswitch power delivery. This thing stock or you got mods? if so list em Quote
brugal Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 You might want to change the gearing, depending on what you have on there now. Quote
TwistedSheeRida Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 sounds like you want a dynoport 2 into 1 pipe and a 2 into 1 carb setup and youd be all set Quote
Idontknowwhy Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 I'd go with a set of Pro circuits or pt mids and keep a dual carb setup as well but that's just me Quote
AKheathen Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 i would stick with stock carbs tuned right, and go with pro-circuits, coolhead with 20cc domes, or shaved head. advanced timing, lower gearing with bigger tires. if you have more money, +2+1 a-arms, and good shocks. the rear can be re-valved and perform excellent. clean-up or woods port. get 3 hd springs and a pancake bearing for the clutch, so it won't give you any problems, with the trail abuse....there's alot you can do, and you will find the other knick nacks when you feel there needs to be an improvement somewhere... X2 on this advice. Only difference I would say is try to find a used Elka for the rear, because unless you do the re-valve on the rear your self it'll be a couple hundred, and if you shop around fleebay for a while you should be able to find one for like 300-400 Quote
